The study "Local food purchases as a possible factor for development in Latin America and the Caribbean" marks an important milestone, resulting from a close technical collaboration between ECLAC and WFP. This joint effort aims primarily to reach the most vulnerable populations and ensure the satisfaction of their essential needs. It is an initiative that seeks to strengthen resilience in food security and nutrition, while addressing one of the most important regional challenges, namely, the growing inequality in employment and income generation.
