Event detail:

The Bolivian Senate is working on a bill to promote the development and use of agroecological bioinputs in food production systems and environmental bioregeneration. Based on the Bolivian proposal, the Confederation of Family Agriculture Workers - CONTRAF-FETRAF of Brazil supported the drafting of a Bioinputs Bill for the Brazilian Parliament. Both bills seek to establish guidelines for national policies on the production and use of bioinputs for agriculture, livestock, aquaculture and forestry, as well as soil bioremediation. They also seek to strengthen agroecological production systems that protect health, safeguard the genetic diversity of species and protect biodiversity, thus safeguarding food sovereignty and security in both countries. To strengthen these experiences, Bolivian and Brazilian legislators who are promoting these laws in both countries will meet in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, on December 19 and 20, together with agroecological producers, academics, authorities and organizations that support this issue, such as PROBIOMA and the National Confederation of Financial Workers - Federation of Financial Workers (CONTRAF-FETRAF).
