Event detail:

FAO will hold the first Global Conference on Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization from September 27 to 29, under the theme "Efficiency, Inclusion and Resilience". Discussions will highlight the contributions of agricultural mechanization to sustainable development and its benefits. The Conference will also enable the prioritization of actions and commitments in line with the implementation of FAO's Strategic Framework 2022-2031, and will seek to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. The Conference will bring together experts and stakeholders from around the world - including FAO Members, farmers, extensionists, opinion leaders, policy makers, scientists, and representatives from academia, civil society, non-governmental organizations and the private sector - for focused dialogues on the Conference theme. The Conference will be held in hybrid mode, with face-to-face participation at FAO Headquarters in Rome, and will consist of plenary sessions with keynote speakers, a series of parallel sessions and a high-level ministerial session. During the Conference, an exhibition entitled "Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization: Technological Pathways to a Better Future" will be mounted at FAO Headquarters to showcase technological advances, already in use or at an early stage, in agricultural mechanization and digitization of agriculture.
