Climate Smart Agriculture Strategy for the SICA Region (2018–2030)
The Climate Smart Agriculture Strategy for the SICA Region (2018–2030) establishes a comprehensive framework to transform agri-food systems in response to the effects of climate variability and climate change. It recognizes that SICA countries face simultaneous challenges related to productivity, food security, and the need to build climate resilience in vulnerable rural contexts. The strategy articulates three strategic axes aimed at increasing sustainable productivity, strengthening risk management, and promoting resilient and low-emission agricultural landscapes. Likewise, it incorporates an inclusive approach that integrates women, rural youth, indigenous peoples, and other actors, ensuring participation and social equity. Finally, it establishes a regional governance structure for implementation, ensuring coordination among SICA countries and multiple technical, scientific, and productive sectors.
