Portfolio on Community Resilience with a Triple Nexus Approach in Venezuela
Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) project, code UNUN/VEN/037/UND, forming part of an inter-agency community resilience portfolio based on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus in Venezuela. The portfolio is jointly led by UNDP, FAO and UNHCR and seeks to strengthen the resilience of returnees and host communities through interventions related to access to essential services, livelihoods and economic opportunities, local governance and development, and inclusive approaches. FAO records the project for 2026-2027 with a total budget of USD 391,341.
Early Recovery of Food Security and Emergency Livelihoods for Women Affected by the Earthquakes
Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) project aimed at the early recovery of food security and emergency livelihoods of women affected by the earthquakes in Venezuela. OCHA Financial Tracking Service records a USD 500,000 commitment from the Government of Belgium to FAO, classified under the Food Security sector.
Improving the Quality of Life of Rural Communities in Four Latin American and Caribbean Countries Through Technological Innovations in Plantain Production, Agro-industrial Processing, and Marketing
The project aimed to improve the living conditions of plantain-producing rural communities in four Latin American and Caribbean countries through the introduction, validation, and adoption of technological innovations in primary production, agro-industrial processing, and plantain marketing. The initiative promoted the modernization of production systems by implementing technologies to increase productivity, reduce post-harvest losses, strengthen local capacities in agro-industrial processing (chips, flours, dehydrated products), and reinforce value chains through business organization, marketing strategies, and improved access to markets.

National Plan for Irrigated Agriculture and Land Drainage (PLANARSAT) - Phase I (2015-2019)
National subsectoral plan to promote and strengthen irrigated agriculture and land drainage in Venezuela during Phase I (2015-2019). It articulates agrifood policies and provides for the rehabilitation, improvement and consolidation of public irrigation and drainage systems, development of new areas, infrastructure investment, inventory, evaluation, monitoring and control mechanisms, capacity building for users, efficient management of soil and water resources, and incentives for the maintenance and conservation of investments, with the purpose of contributing to food security and sovereignty, productivity, sustainability and integrated rural development.
Venezuela Food Security and Livelihoods Cluster
The Food Security and Livelihoods Cluster began operations in Venezuela in May 2019 as part of the Humanitarian Country Team architecture and in the context of the Humanitarian Response Plan. Co-led by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP), it brings together national and international humanitarian partners to improve the quality and impact of assistance to people affected by the crisis and to promote coherent, coordinated and integrated responses driven by food security and livelihood needs. In 2026, the Cluster continues to support efforts to improve self-sufficiency and access to food for the country's most vulnerable populations.
United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela 2023-2026
The United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2023-2026 agreed between the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the United Nations system establishes the strategic framework for supporting national efforts towards the 2030 Agenda. Its priorities focus on strengthening population resilience; fostering sustainable, resilient and innovative productive development aligned with environmental management and climate action; and promoting sustainable, inclusive and equitable social cohesion. The Framework incorporates the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus and includes a result aimed at achieving a sustainable food system and healthy nutrition with the inclusion of agricultural producers and the development of family, urban and peri-urban agriculture.
