Scaling up technological innovations in family organic banana farming to reduce packaging losses and increase productivity by improving soil health – a test of continuous improvement and benchmarking for sustainable intensification
The project strengthens the competitiveness of family-based organic banana production in the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Ecuador by scaling technological innovations, promoting agronomic practices that reduce pest-related losses and improve soil health, and introducing the Ma$ Banano digital tool for farm management. It builds technical capacity and organizational strength in 12 small-producer associations, directly benefiting 2,400 family farmers involved in organic export markets.
Improving the Quality of Life of Rural Communities in Four Latin American and Caribbean Countries Through Technological Innovations in Plantain Production, Agro-industrial Processing, and Marketing
The project aimed to improve the living conditions of plantain-producing rural communities in four Latin American and Caribbean countries through the introduction, validation, and adoption of technological innovations in primary production, agro-industrial processing, and plantain marketing. The initiative promoted the modernization of production systems by implementing technologies to increase productivity, reduce post-harvest losses, strengthen local capacities in agro-industrial processing (chips, flours, dehydrated products), and reinforce value chains through business organization, marketing strategies, and improved access to markets.

Agroecological Production Policy 2025-30 The agricultural sector promoting sustainability and resilience
The purpose of the Agroecological Production Policy is to provide a common framework for analysis for collective agroecological action. It seeks to facilitate the epistemological and theoretical arguments that drive the construction and development of this field in order to operationalize the struggle for agrifood sustainability. Once the policy has been developed and disseminated, it is shared among the actors working in this field, and the document that adequately provides for collective action from an agroecological perspective is also circulated.
Strategy for the Protection of the Environment and the Sustainable Development
The INDRHI's National Hydrological Plan 2025–2045 is a 20-year roadmap to ensure water resources as the basis for development and climate resilience in the Dominican Republic. It proposes a paradigm shift from reactive management to comprehensive basin planning, with four strategic axes: (i) water policy and governance (regulatory framework, public information, institutional strengthening, and participation); (ii) universal access and quality (drinking water and sanitation, discharge control, treatment, and reuse); (iii) adaptation and water security (restoration of headwaters, infrastructure protection, drought and flood control, hydrometeorological network, and real-time monitoring); and (iv) efficiency and productivity (irrigation modernization, efficient urban and industrial demand, circular water economy). The plan organizes prioritized investment programs and portfolios—with targets, indicators, and financing schemes—and proposes management tools (water balances, information systems, strategic environmental assessment) to organize uses, reduce losses, expand availability through storage, recharge, and reuse, and align water policy with the NDC and SDGs.
Practical Guide for the Issuance of Thematic Securities
The Practical Guide for the Issuance of Thematic Securities is a document developed by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MMARN), the Superintendence of the Securities Market (SIMV), the Association of Multiple Banks (ABA) and the Stock Exchange and Securities Market of the Dominican Republic (BVRD) with technical support from the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). This guide establishes practical guidelines to facilitate the issuance of green, social and sustainable securities in the Dominican market, aligned with international standards such as the Green Bond Principles (GBP), Social Bond Principles (SBP) and the Sustainability Bond Guidelines (SBG) of ICMA. It provides a detailed roadmap on the steps, regulatory requirements, project evaluation and selection processes, fund management and impact reporting necessary to structure these issuances. The main objective is to mobilize capital towards projects that address environmental and social challenges, supporting the implementation of the Dominican Republic's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The guide also integrates the Green Taxonomy of the Dominican Republic and promotes transparency, credibility and integrity in the country's thematic securities market.

Agricultural Research Capacities in Central America and Dominican Republic
This technical cooperation seeks to contribute to increasing agricultural productivity in the region through improving the efficiency of agricultural research systems in Central America and the Dominican Republic. It focuses on overcoming the limitations these systems face in achieving their mission through the collection and analysis of data on agricultural science and technology indicators. The initiative includes updating ASTI indicators for the 2013-2020 period, analyzing the performance of research systems, and disseminating results.
Industrial Free Zone Development Project Dominican Republic
The Industrial Free Zone Development Project in the Dominican Republic provides long-term financing for infrastructure development and construction of factory shells in private industrial free zones, along with machinery acquisition for manufacturing companies. The project includes technical assistance components to strengthen institutional management capacities, streamline loan application review procedures, and improve understanding of the requirements for sector growth in an increasingly competitive trading environment.
